Hi, my name is Jane MacDougall. I am a recent graduate from Louisiana State University where I studied General and Special Education. I've worked with students who have varying abilities in both an inclusive and a self contained classroom. I've taught students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 with diverse backgrounds and interests. I love to make learning interesting and engaging; if the student is engaged the lesson will be effective! While pursuing my degree I also competed on the swim team. This love for sport led me to become a swim instructor and Special Olympics swim coach in my spare time. I truly have a love for teaching and helping students reach their goals. I have experienced this both in the classroom and in the pool! I believe in creating a positive learning environment while using evidence based practices. I hope to hear from you soon!

My speciality is working with students who have diverse needs. I believe every student has the ability to be successful and reach their goals. I have worked with struggling students and created unique lesson plans to suit each individual area for growth. I like to approach new concepts by addressing what the student already knows and building off their prior knowledge to create a deep understanding of new material. With patience and instruction I believe I can help students gain confidence in themselves and help them foster an independence in learning and a love for education.
