About Dameris
My name is Dameris Alonso. I am from Spain. I am a qualified languages teacher, with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education in Modern Languages from the University of Sunderland in the UK, in which I specialised in teaching Spanish. I have many years' experience teaching languages. I have taught Spanish and English as a Second Language at schools in the Middle East, and Spanish at a school in Great Britain.
I speak five languages: Spanish is my native language, I am bilingual in English, I have a B2 DELf in French, I obtained my HSK C1 Certificate in Chinese/Mandarin in Beijing, and I also have an advanced certificate in Russian.
My Bachelor's Degree is in Drama, from the University of Kent in the UK.

Specialities
My career has been mainly focused on teaching Spanish language, culture and literature. I am passionate about helping students learn my language and learn about my culture. I also have a broad experience teaching English as a second language and as a foreign language to students of many different nationalities.
My lessons are heavily focused on speaking and using the language in question. My speciality is enabling the students speak and use the language with confidence. I am good at making the students feel comfortable, which allows them to take advantage of the lesson and make progress in an enjoyble way.
I have taught students of all ages and from many backgrounds. Studying different languages myself has allowed me to understand the different processes through which a language learner goes, the needs they have depending on their abilities and background, and also the learning challenges they may find.
