About Robert

My name is Rob and I'm a 25-year-old social and cultural psychologist from Ireland. Aside from my formal studies, I love casually learning new languages, literature, movies and travelling (when possible). I am also a keen animal-lover, and cats are great too but I'm dog person! I have also lived a few countries other than Ireland (Argentina, Germany, Portugal) and I am currently living in Budapest, Hungary.
As a native speaker of English, I have had experience teaching the language to students of all ages, toddlers, teens, adults, and the elderly! This is from beginners to advanced bi-lingual levels. I am now really excited to be teaching English again having been busy with my studies in psychology over the past few years. So If you would like to have a tutor for any of the specialties listed below, or have a culture and language exchange while practicing English with a friendly Irish person, then I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon!

I have a passion for meeting people, learning about backgrounds that are different to my own and understanding the socio-cultural processes that shape the similarities and differences in our behaviours, perspectives and beliefs. Moreover, I am particularly interested in how this affects intergroup attitudes and communication; be it in a local or global context.
My academic career has been anchored in social psychology, but has also incorporated aspects of sociology, political science and human rights work. My own research has looked at acculturation of immigrants and prejudice towards marginalised groups in society, and I have also worked as part of local and international research-teams investigating similar social phenomena.
I am also able to tutor general psychology and research methods, as can be seen in my profile, so If you're a student of psychology, (or just curious about any of the topics mentioned) then I'm excited to hear from you soon!
