I am a writing tutor and offer services remotely to students, grades 4th thru 12th and beyond. I have a BA from UCLA and hold a CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (Elementary K-6) from CSULA, and a CA Single Subject English Credential (grades 7-12) from CSUN, and have 22 years teaching experience in California public schools. My specialty is teaching essay writing. I work with students online, one-on-one, for one hour sessions to improve their writing.
I teach students to become proficient and exceed expectations in their writing. I help them to write opinion, descriptive, and narrative essays. This starts with instruction in the five paragraph essay structure. I teach how to write clear thesis statements, and to write with varied kinds of sentences: simple, compound, and complex. This makes writing flow and keeps the reader engaged. I teach how to write paragraphs that have a logical order and progress from one point to the next.
