At the California State University of Long Beach, I joined a program named Teaching English as a Foreign Language. In this program, I learned how to teach the seven language components, an example would be how to use reading strategies to improve your reading skills. Not only did this program teach me about how to be a teacher, but I learned how to be patient with students, create a welcoming environment so they can ask questions, and helping them in every way possible. When I do encounter a problem either in class or in a tutoring session, I do skip it for now, but at the end of the session or the next day we can go over it again.
As a person I do look for new opportunities and I take them, like volunteering online or in-person by helping others in translating documents from Spanish to English or tutoring kids who are struggling with homework.
