I hold my PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Michigan, where I have had the opportunity to teach courses in composition and the humanities to a wide range of students. As a tutor, I rely on humor, Socratic method, and mutual accountability to motivate and build rapport. I attend to the content knowledge as well as the mindsets that transform learning, and have helped students raise test scores, prepare admissions packages, and master new skills. I always enjoy hearing from old students who have gone on to great things. In my free time, I enjoy running, video games, and spending time with my wife and daughters. I am a master laser tagger and a devoted writer, and have published articles and poems in various magazines and journals. In addition, I have never lost a thumb war. I look forward to helping you meet your goals.
